Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh calls upon each individual to be an ambassador of the Vietnam-China friendship, a bond forged and nurtured across generations. This precious shared heritage of our two nations is a testament to our enduring ties, and it is our collective responsibility to preserve, promote, and further strengthen this relationship for the benefit of future generations.
During the program of attending the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit, the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (ACMECS), the 11th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit and working in China, on the afternoon of November 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with officials and staff of the Consulate General and the Vietnamese community in Yunnan Province, China.

Reporting on the situation of the Vietnamese community in Yunnan province (China), Vietnamese Consul General in Kunming Hoang Minh Son said that Yunnan province is a key locality in the Southwest region of China with a population of more than 48 million people.

Yunnan province also has a deep and close relationship with Vietnam. The Vietnamese community in Yunnan has about 4,000 people working, living, doing business and studying, including many multicultural families.

Vietnamese Consul General in Kunming Hoang Minh Son said that this working trip of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is of important significance, including creating momentum to promote stronger, more effective and substantive cooperation between localities of Vietnam and China.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Kunming and Yunnan are familiar places to Vietnam. This is where President Ho Chi Minh stopped and worked during his search for a way to save the country and lead the revolution. Currently, the relationship between Yunnan Province and the four border provinces of Vietnam of Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, and Ha Giang is good.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that this good relationship tradition has existed for a long time, especially people-to-people exchanges since the railway connecting Yunnan (China) with Vietnam was built in the past. As shared by the community, many Vietnamese people have followed this route to Yunnan to work and live, and many families have been here for four generations.

Emphasizing the importance of the railway in connecting the two economies, connecting people, and promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Kunming is a meaningful place for the Vietnamese revolution. This meaning will be further promoted in the current period when the two countries are continuing to consolidate and promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and the Vietnam-China community with a shared future is developing more deeply, comprehensively, and sustainably to bring mutual benefits to the two peoples and two countries.

The Prime Minister stated that China is a neighboring country with a common border, a country having a close relationship with Vietnam. Vietnam always attaches great importance to consolidating and developing the friendly relations and cooperation with China, considering this as a consistent policy, an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in its foreign policy.
Sharing about the country's current state of affairs, the great and historic achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, and the outstanding results in socio-economic development in recent times, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that the Vietnamese community in China will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, live, study, and work in accordance with the law, integrate positively, and develop well.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that every citizen will always be an ambassador of the Vietnam-China friendship, built and nurtured over many generations, and will continue to be passed down to futurbye generations. This relationship has become a precious shared heritage of the two nations, two countries, and needs to be inherited, preserved, and continuously promoted by current and future generations.

Also on the afternoon of November 5th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam Culture and Tourism Festival at the Yunnan Theater in Kunming City, towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and the Vietnam-China Year of People-to-People Exchange in 2025.

At the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited an exhibition showcasing 40 photos of Vietnam's heritage, culture, and tourism, with four main themes including Vietnam - The Land of Wonders, Vietnam - A Paradise of World Biosphere Reserves, Vietnam - The Land of Human Memory and Vietnam - The Home of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
