The topic was discussed between Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) and Jigjee Sereejav, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Vietnam, in Hanoi on October 24.

At the meeting, Mongolian Ambassador Jigjee Sereejav expressed his delight at the positive developments in Vietnam - Mongolia relations in recent times. The state visit to Vietnam by Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh (November 2023) and the state visit to Mongolia by General Secretary To Lam (September 30 - October 1, 2024) were of great significance. Within the framework of General Secretary To Lam's visit, the two countries issued a Vietnam - Mongolia Joint Statement on establishing a comprehensive partnership. In 2023, the two countries signed an agreement on visa exemption for ordinary passport holders, creating favorable conditions for exchanges, cooperation between businesses and people of the two countries.

Ambassador Jigjee Sereejav hopes to coordinate with VUFO to promote cooperation and enhance mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and Mongolia, especially the young generation, through cultural, educational, literary, artistic activities.

President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son said: Vietnam and Mongolia have lots of room for cooperation development. With a glorious history, majestic nature, experience in maintaining national peace, stability, and socio-economic development, Mongolia has strengths that attract partners, people's organizations, and people from Vietnam.

The President of VUFO hopes that the Mongolian Embassy will support to connect and introduce VUFO to Mongolian partners, thereby establishing long-term, sustainable, and effective cooperative relations. VUFO also hopes to coordinate with the Embassy to promote delegation exchanges and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

The President of VUFO and the Ambassador of Mongolia agreed to continue promoting cooperation between the two agencies, between the Vietnam - Mongolia Friendship Association and the Mongolia - Vietnam Friendship Association. The two sides agreed to coordinate in organizing activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mongolia (November 17, 1954 - November 17, 2024).
