VIETNAM - JAPANESE FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION IN HAU GIANG PROVINCE TO CONNECT FARMERS OF HAU GIANG AND JAPAN

With the characteristics and advantages of the partnership with Japan in term of professional work as well as the support of the Provincial People's Committee, the Haugiang province Union of Friendship Organizations and the relevant agencies, etc. The Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in Hau Giang province will further enhance practical activities to connect farmers of Hau Giang province and Japan, contributing to the cooperative relations and economic development of the province.
Recently, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in Hau Giang province has placed much value on events linking the cooperation relationship between the two countries and considered it as an opportunity for the Association to raise awareness and promote relationships. Organizing events and celebrating major holidays of parner’s country are often through various forms such as meetings, seminars, cultural and academic exchanges. In particular, in the event of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2018), the Association gathered students of the University of Can Tho studying in the province and Japanese students and professors from the University of Tokyo. At the ceremony, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Vice Chairman of  Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee said, diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan was officially established on September 21, 1973 and the relationship between the two countries is growing in many aspects. Hau Giang province wants to develop relations and cooperations in the coming time. The highlight of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in Hau Giang province is that the Association can connect not only its members and parners but also partners of partners in doing professional activities, so that the activities of the associations can spread to its members and students, farmers and others as well.
In the coming time, besides participating in events of developing diplomatic relations, cultural exchange activities, academic exchanges, scientific research, the Association will organize academics and scientific research for experts from Tokyo University, Saga University, Saga Agricultural High School, Japan Overseas Trade Organization (JETRO) to exchange by connecting members working at  Faculty of Rural Development - Can Tho University, Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Management Board of Provincial Hi-tech Agricultural Park, Provincial Cooperative Alliance, thereby, the people, the community of scientists and students of the two countries have better understanding about local culture, socio-economy and agricultural production and tighten sustainable cooperative relation between Vietnam and Japan’s organizations.
First in 2021, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in Hau Giang province will focus on the following activities:
Effectively implementing activities of friendship, cooperation and people-to-people diplomacy: promoting cooperation and exchanging activities with traditional partners of the Association and agencies where its members working for; Coordinating with members’ agencies to carry out activities of friendship, cooperation and people-to-people diplomacy. 
Strengthening activities to connect Japanese organizations and partners with Hau Giang province: Through cooperative activities, scientific research, professional activities between members and agencies (members' agencies) with Japanese partners in order to visit, discuss with the Provincial People's Committee and agencies in the province about development matters; inviting Japanese professors and experts to come to exchange and consult on professional aspects of interest of the province. 
Improving the efficency of the Association’s activities and operations : To participate more actively in the activities of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations; Keep contact with  the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City about “Cultural aid” of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in fiscal year 2022; To push experiential sharing activities with other friendship organizations with an aim to tighten the cooperative relationship between Hau Giang and Japan./ .
