VUFO President Phan Anh Son highlighted Vietnam’s achievements over 40 years of Renewal (Doi Moi) and the potential for cooperation between the two countries. Since the establishment of the Vietnam - India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2016, bilateral relations have thrived in numerous fields, including diplomacy, economics, defense, science and technology, and people-to-people exchange.
Harchand Singh, Secretary General of AIPSO and head of the Indian people’s delegation, expressed his gratitude to VUFO and VIFA for their warm and thoughtful hospitality at the event.
He affirmed that the 12th Vietnam-India People’s Friendship Festival serves as a vivid testament to the enduring friendship between the peoples of the two countries; and expressed confidence that this year’s festival would be an occasion to showcase traditional cultural values and a symbol of the profound solidarity and close ties between Vietnam and India.
Harchand Singh proposed increasing opportunities for youth exchanges, encompassing entrepreneurs, academics, artists, and young leaders from both countries. He advocated for cultural, artistic, and economic exchange activities to extend beyond major cities to localities in both nations, thereby deepening mutual understanding and strengthening Vietnam-India relations.
The Indian people’s delegation participating in the 12th Vietnam-India People’s Friendship Festival consists of 35 members from various public organizations, political parties, businesses, and artists in India.
The festival will open on December 18 in Vinh Phuc Province and conclude on December 20 in Ho Chi Minh City. The event offers an opportunity for the people of both countries to reflect on the historical milestones in their relations, and discuss measures to enhance multifaceted cooperation.
