Inauguration of 2 projects sponsored by the Indian Government in Hau Giang
The people’s Committee of Hau Giang province has just held the inauguration Ceremony of 2 projects “ Project fund program Quick Impact Project (QIPs) under the Mekong – Ganga Cooperation (MGC) for the period of 2020 – 2021” sponsored by the Indian Government.
Mr. Pranay Verma – Ambassador of India in Vietnam; Ms. Manu Verma, Ambassador’s Wife; Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi – Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh city attended.
Project fund program Quick Impact Project (QIPs) under the Mekong – Ganga Cooperation (MGC) for the period of 2020 – 2021, Hau Giang province has implemented two projects, including project supporting the supply of clean water to people in drought and saltwater intrusion areas and project building an advanced and water-saving irrigation model applying 4.0 technology in drought and saltwater intrusion prevention and control. The cost of each project is about 50.000 USD.
Currently, the project of supporting and providing clean water for people in drought and saltwater intrusion areas in Hau Giang province has provided 205 water tanks, 1000-liter tanks and built a clean water pipeline with a length of more than 4100 meter serving clean water for nearly 200 households. The project of building an advanced and water-saving irrigation model applying 4.0 technology in drought and saltwater intrusion prevention has built an automatic salinity measurement station, installing an advanced water-saving irrigation system applying 4.0 technology serving mainly for fruit trees in the project area.
Speaking at ceremony, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen – Standing Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee expressed his sincere thanks to the Embassy of India in Vietnam and Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh city for two quick impact projects (QIPs) in Hau Giang province. The project was completed in time to provide clean water for prople in drought and saltwater intrusion areas in Phung Hiep, Chau Thanh and Long My districts.
These are projects of practical significance for the peoples of Hau Giang province, improving the daily life and production activities of people in areas where it is difficult to access clean water sources. Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee will direct agencies, mass organizations and localities to use the projects most effectively.
